Ingredients

Scale

Avocado Ice Cream Ingredients

  • 3 ripe avocados (halved, pitted, and scooped)
  • 1 cup plain Greek yogurt
  • 2/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 4 teaspoons fresh lime juice
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Blend Ingredients: Place the avocado flesh, Greek yogurt, granulated sugar, heavy cream, maple syrup, lime juice, and a pinch of salt into a food processor. Blend the mixture until it becomes smooth, creamy, and the sugar has fully dissolved, ensuring an even consistency.
  2. Churn Mixture: Pour the blended mixture into your ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer’s instructions. This step aerates the ice cream and creates a creamy texture.
  3. Freeze: Transfer the churned ice cream into a pre-chilled loaf pan or an airtight container. Freeze the ice cream for a minimum of 4 hours to allow it to set properly.
  4. Serve: Before serving, take the ice cream out of the freezer and let it sit at room temperature for about 10 minutes to soften slightly, making it easier to scoop.

Notes

  • Use ripe avocados for the best creamy texture and flavor.
  • You can adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar and maple syrup according to taste.
  • To enhance the lime flavor, zest some lime peel into the mixture before blending.
  • If you don’t have an ice cream maker, you can place the mixture in a container and freeze, stirring every 30 minutes until firm.
