Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 1 tube chilled sugar cookie dough (about 16.5 ounces)

Frosting

  • 8 ounces cream cheese (softened)
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter (softened)
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Toppings

  • 1 cup fresh blueberries (washed and dried)
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • 1 medium banana (sliced)

Instructions

  1. Bake crust: Preheat your oven to 350°F. Line a 12-inch pan with parchment paper and press the chilled sugar cookie dough evenly into the pan. Bake for 13-15 minutes until the edges are lightly golden. Remove the pan from the oven and transfer the crust onto a wire rack to cool completely.
  2. Frost crust: In a mixing bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese, softened butter, sifted powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Spread the frosting evenly over the completely cooled cookie crust.
  3. Decorate: Arrange the fresh blueberries neatly in one corner of the frosted crust to represent the stars section of the American flag. Then create stripes by alternating slices of fresh strawberries and banana around the rest of the pizza to mimic the red and white stripes of the flag. Serve immediately or chill until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Make sure the cookie crust is completely cooled before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Use fresh, firm fruit for the best visual appeal and flavor.
  • You can substitute fresh raspberries for strawberries for a slightly different flavor and color.
  • This dessert is best served the same day as assembled to maintain freshness.
  • For easier slicing, chill the fruit pizza for at least 30 minutes before serving.
