This Viral Cherry Vanilla Latte is a delightful coffee beverage that combines a homemade cherry syrup with rich espresso and creamy milk. Featuring a sweet cherry sauce with a hint of vanilla, this latte offers a unique fruity twist on a classic espresso drink. Perfect for cherry lovers, it’s customizable with your choice of milk and sweeteners.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherry Syrup

  • 2 cups frozen cherries
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/41/3 cup allulose (adjust to taste; can use coconut sugar or regular sugar)

Cherry Latte

  • 23 tbsp cherry sauce (from recipe above)
  • 12 shots espresso
  • 3 tbsp milk of choice (almond, coconut, or regular milk)
  • 2 tbsp heavy cream (regular or dairy-free)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Cook the Cherries: In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine frozen cherries, water, and allulose. Heat the mixture until the cherries begin to soften and release their juices.
  2. Simmer: Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cherries are soft and the sauce has thickened slightly. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. Blend: Use an immersion blender directly in the pot or transfer the mixture to a blender and blend until smooth to create a cherry syrup.
  4. Adjust Consistency: If the syrup is too thick, add a little more water to achieve your desired consistency.
  5. Brew the Espresso: Prepare 1-2 shots of espresso using a Nespresso, espresso machine, or strong brewed coffee as per your preference.
  6. Froth Milk and Cream: Froth the milk, heavy cream, and optional vanilla extract using a milk frother or whisk until slightly foamy.
  7. Assemble the Latte: Fill a glass with ice, pour in the cherry sauce, then add the espresso shots followed by the frothed milk and cream mixture. Stir well to combine all flavors.
  8. Top & Enjoy: Optionally, garnish with an extra drizzle of cherry sauce or a sprinkle of cinnamon to enhance flavor and presentation. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sweetness of the cherry syrup by varying the amount of allulose, coconut sugar, or regular sugar.
  • Use dairy-free milk and cream options to make this latte suitable for vegans or those with lactose intolerance.
  • For a colder drink, add more ice cubes or use chilled cherry syrup beforehand.
  • An immersion blender is convenient for blending the cherry mixture directly in the pot, but a regular blender works well too.
  • Vanilla extract in the latte is optional but adds a nice depth of flavor.
