Savory Herbed Fargozas are delicious muffins filled with herbs and cheeses, perfect for a savory snack or a light meal.

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon dried rosemary

Wet Ingredients:

  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 small onion, minced
  • 2 teaspoons crushed garlic
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 0.25 cup butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Step 1 – Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C). Grease 12 muffin cups. If using dark-coated pans, preheat to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). (5 minutes)
  2. Step 2 – In a large bowl, combine dry ingredients; then mix in cheeses, onion, and garlic. (10 minutes)
  3. Step 3 – Whisk egg and butter into the milk. Create a well in dry ingredients, pour in milk mixture, and stir briefly. (5 minutes)
  4. Step 4 – Fill muffin cups with batter. (5 minutes)
  5. Step 5 – Bake at 425 degrees F until browned, about 25 minutes. Cool for 5 minutes before removing from cups.
