A cozy and festive Peppermint Mocha Tea Latte combining refreshing peppermint tea with rich cocoa and a touch of honey, topped with whipped cream and crushed candy canes for a delightful winter treat.

Ingredients

Scale

Tea

  • 2 bags peppermint tea
  • 2 cups water

Milk Mixture

  • 1 cup milk (dairy or non-dairy)
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 12 teaspoons honey (adjust to taste)

Toppings (Optional)

  • Whipped cream
  • Crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings

Instructions

  1. Steep the Peppermint Tea: Boil 2 cups of water and pour it over the 2 peppermint tea bags. Let it steep for 5 minutes to extract the refreshing peppermint flavor. After steeping, remove the tea bags.
  2. Heat the Milk: In a small saucepan, gently heat 1 cup of milk over medium heat until it is warm but not boiling, stirring occasionally to prevent it from scorching.
  3. Mix Cocoa and Honey: Add 2 tablespoons of cocoa powder and 1-2 teaspoons of honey into the warm milk. Whisk thoroughly until the cocoa dissolves completely and the mixture is smooth and creamy.
  4. Combine Tea and Cocoa Milk: Pour the brewed peppermint tea into a mug, then slowly stir in the cocoa milk mixture until the flavors are well blended.
  5. Add Toppings: For a festive and indulgent touch, top the latte with whipped cream and sprinkle crushed candy canes or chocolate shavings on top. Serve immediately and enjoy the warm, soothing beverage.

Notes

  • You can use any type of milk including almond, oat, or soy to make this dairy-free.
  • Adjust the honey to taste depending on your preferred sweetness level.
  • For a stronger chocolate flavor, consider adding an extra half tablespoon of cocoa powder.
  • This latte can be served iced as well by chilling the tea and milk mixture and adding ice cubes.
  • Crushed candy canes not only add flavor but also a colorful festive garnish.
