Mini Tiramisu Cups are a delightful, individual-sized twist on the classic Italian dessert. These creamy treats feature layers of mascarpone cheese and whipped cream, combined with espresso-soaked ladyfinger cookies, creating a perfect balance of rich, coffee-infused flavor and smooth texture. Ideal for elegant dinner parties or a simple indulgence, these cups are easy to prepare and beautifully presented.

Ingredients

Scale

Mascarpone Cream

  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Coffee Mixture

  • 1 cup strong brewed espresso or very strong coffee
  • 2 tablespoons coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar

Assembly

  • 12 ladyfinger cookies

Instructions

  1. Make the Mascarpone Mixture: In a large mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and 1/3 cup granulated sugar. Using a spatula, gently fold the ingredients together until smooth and well incorporated.
  2. Whip the Cream: In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until soft peaks form. This will add lightness to the mascarpone mixture.
  3. Combine Cream and Mascarpone: Slowly fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture, gently blending until the mixture is smooth, creamy, and airy.
  4. Prepare Coffee Soak: Boil 1 cup of water, then remove from heat and let cool slightly before adding the espresso and 2 tablespoons granulated sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely. If using, stir in the coffee liqueur. Allow the coffee mixture to cool to room temperature.
  5. Dip the Ladyfingers: Quickly dip each ladyfinger cookie into the coffee mixture, making sure not to soak them completely to avoid sogginess.
  6. Layer the Cups: Place a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom of each serving cup. Top with a generous layer of mascarpone cream. Repeat with another layer of dipped ladyfingers and finish with a final mascarpone cream layer on top.
  7. Chill the Dessert: Refrigerate the mini tiramisu cups for at least 4 hours to allow the flavors to meld and the cream to set properly before serving.

Notes

  • For a more intense coffee flavor, use espresso instead of regular strong coffee.
  • Do not soak the ladyfingers for too long; they should be moist but not soggy.
  • Optional coffee liqueur adds an adult twist but can be omitted for a non-alcoholic version.
  • These mini cups can be made a day ahead and stored covered in the refrigerator.
  • For garnish, consider dusting the tops with cocoa powder or chocolate shavings before serving.
