These Irish Cream Oreos are delightful no-bake truffle treats combining crushed Oreo cookies with cream cheese, flavored with Irish cream liqueur or vanilla extract, and coated in vibrant green candy melts. Ingredients

Scale

Oreo Truffle Mixture

  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (about 36 cookies)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 12 tsp Irish cream liqueur (like Baileys) – optional for adults, or substitute with 1 tsp vanilla extract for a non-alcoholic version

Coating and Decoration

  • 12 oz green candy melts (or white chocolate with green food coloring)
  • Assorted green, white, and orange sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Make the Oreo Truffle Mixture: Crush the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a ziplock bag and crushing with a rolling pin. In a large bowl, mix the Oreo crumbs with softened cream cheese until you form a sticky dough. Add Irish cream liqueur or vanilla extract now, if desired. Cover and refrigerate the mixture for 30 minutes to firm up.
  2. Shape the Truffles: Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the chilled mixture and roll it into a ball between your palms. Place each ball on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat until all the mixture is shaped. Chill the balls in the refrigerator or freezer for 15-20 minutes to help them hold their shape during coating.
  3. Coat the Truffles: Melt the green candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions, stirring until smooth. If using white chocolate, add green food coloring to achieve the desired color. Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted coating using a fork or dipping tool, fully covering the truffle. Tap off excess chocolate and lay the coated truffle back on the parchment paper.
  4. Add the Sprinkles: While the coating is still wet, decorate each truffle with green, white, and orange sprinkles to create a festive Irish theme. Allow truffles to set at room temperature or refrigerate until the coating is fully hardened.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace Irish cream liqueur with vanilla extract.
  • Ensure cream cheese is softened for easier mixing.
  • Chilling the mixture twice helps maintain the truffle shape during coating.
  • You can use white chocolate and green food coloring if green candy melts are unavailable.
  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
