  • ⅔ cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
  2. Mix Sugar and Butter: In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar and melted butter until light and airy, about 1 minute.
  3. Add Eggs and Vanilla: Add eggs one at a time, then vanilla, mixing well after each addition.
  4. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together cake flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.
  5. Fold in Sour Cream: Gently fold in the sour cream until incorporated.
  6. Pour Batter and Top: Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle the top with 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar.
  7. Bake: Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
