  • 4 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 3 tbsp butter (softened)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup powdered sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cream butter and sugars: Cream the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Add wet ingredients: Whisk in the egg, vanilla extract, vinegar, and red gel food coloring until combined.
  4. Mix dry ingredients: Combine flour, cocoa powder, cornstarch, baking powder, and salt until just mixed.
  5. Form cookies: Scoop out dough, flatten, and bake for 10 minutes.
  6. Decorate: Bake a tablespoon of dough separately to use for decoration.
  7. Cream cheese frosting: Cream butter, cream cheese, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy.
  8. Frost cookies: Pipe frosting onto cooled cookies and top with cookie crumbs.
