Ingredients

Scale

Crab Filling

  • 34 cups (about 1416 oz.) finely chopped imitation crab meat
  • 1 (8 oz.) package cream cheese, softened
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 green onions, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper

Dough

  • 2 packages crescent rolls

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crab mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped green onions, salt, and pepper. Stir well until the mixture is smooth and all ingredients are thoroughly blended.
  2. Add imitation crab: Gently fold the finely chopped imitation crab meat into the cream cheese mixture, making sure it is evenly incorporated without breaking up the crab too much.
  3. Assemble the bottom layer: Unroll one package of crescent rolls and spread it out on a baking sheet. Using your fingers, carefully press the seams together to seal them into one solid sheet, preventing the filling from leaking out.
  4. Spread the crab filling: Evenly spread the crab mixture over the sealed crescent roll dough, leaving about a 1/2-inch border around the edges to allow for sealing the top layer.
  5. Add the top layer: Unroll the second package of crescent rolls and carefully lay it over the crab filling. Press the edges together firmly to seal the two layers, and gently press the seams to secure everything inside.
  6. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375℉ (190℃). Bake the assembled crescent roll dish for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the dough is golden brown and fully cooked through.
  7. Slice and serve: After baking, remove from the oven and let it cool slightly. Use a pizza cutter or a sharp knife to cut into small squares or bite-sized pieces. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Use a pizza cutter for quick and clean slicing of the baked crab crescent bites.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to easily mix the filling ingredients.
  • You can add a dash of Old Bay seasoning or paprika to enhance the seafood flavor.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce like cocktail sauce or tartar sauce for extra flavor.
  • Can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving for convenience.
  • Substitute real crab meat for a more authentic taste, although imitation crab works well and is budget-friendly.
