Cheese and Garlic Crack Bread is a delicious pull-apart bread that’s loaded with gooey cheese, garlic, and butter. It’s perfect for sharing at gatherings or as a special treat for a cozy night in.

Crusty Loaf:

  • 1 crusty loaf, preferably sourdough or Vienna

Cheese Filling:

  • 1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese (or other melting cheese)

Garlic Butter:

  • 100 g / 1 stick (8 tbsp) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 3/4 tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 180C/350F.
  2. Melt Garlic Butter: Combine butter, garlic, and salt in a heatproof bowl and melt in the microwave. Stir through parsley.
  3. Prepare Bread: Cut the bread on a diagonal into 2cm/1″ diamonds but do not cut all the way through the bread.
  4. Stuff with Cheese: Pry open each crack in the bread and drizzle in a teaspoon of garlic butter and stuff in a pinch of cheese.
  5. Brush with Butter: Brush the surface with remaining garlic butter.
  6. Bake: Wrap the bread in foil and bake for 20 minutes. Unwrap and bake for an additional 5-10 minutes until crusty.
  7. Serve: Serve immediately.

  • For best results, make sure to use a good quality, crusty loaf for this recipe.
  • This bread is best enjoyed fresh out of the oven.
